TACOMA, Washington: Will hold its first election of the year on February 8 with 27 counties having issues on their ballots. Due to it being an odd numbered year, the number of measures on the February election date is significantly smaller. There are 90 measures being voted on this election where as last year there were 244 measures. A majority of the measures deal with school property taxes being replaced and renewed or schools asking for various amounts of bond money to help pay for construction projects. A few counties also have district tax proposals including fire, cemetery and park districts. Nearly all of the school levies being asked in the election are for renewals so school officials hope there will not be issues with them. Missouri and Ohio will also hold elections in some counties on the 8th of February.
