A Washington City Electrical Aggregation Question was on the March 20, 2012 ballot in the city of Washington which is in Tazewell County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,550 (64.7%)Approveda
  • NO 847 (35.3%)[1]

This measure sought to allow the city government to buy electricity for residents and small businesses. Residents and businesses will be able to opt out of the program if they do not want to participate. The purpose of aggregation, city officials noted, is that it allows the city to buy electricity in bulk and therefore cost less to those who are a part of the program.[2]
