A Washington Community High School bond issue referendum was on the April 7, 2009 ballot in Tazewell County for voters in the City of Washington.

This measure failed to pass.[1]

The measure asked homeowners in District 308 to aid in funding an $18.4 million renovation of Washington Community High School. According to the Pekin Daily Times, "One of the greatest costs of the project, according to the proposal, is expected to be that of Health/Life Safety improvements — a set of guidelines set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education to ensure the highest levels of safety for childcare environments — which will include facility-wide air conditioning and is estimated at $5,799,125. The construction of the new kitchen and commons area would also be near the top of the list of expenditures at $4,346,211."[2]
