Initiative 790 was on the November 5, 2002 ballot in the State of Washington as an Initiative to the People where it was approved.

I-790 was about the state's retirement system for law enforcement officers and fire fighters. By the terms of I-790, management of their retirement system, plan 2, was placed in a board of trustees consisting of six plan participants, three employer representatives, and two legislators.[1]

  • No: 800,105 (46.98%)

The language for I-790 was filed on March 5, 2002 by Kelly L. Fox and Harold W. Hanson of Olympia. 345,543 signatures were submitted and found sufficient.
