Mission Statement
The objectives of the Statue Law Committee are to provide high quality services in a professional and strictly nonpartisan and cost effective manner. The Committee seeks to foster professionalism and expertise which will result in highly accurate publication of laws and agency rules[2].
Governance
The Washington State Code Reviser's Office is governed by a 9 person Statute Law Committee that governs a agency that has 41 people on staff][3]. The board consists of the Secretary of the Washington State Senate, two at-large board members from the Washington Senate that are appointed by its President, The Chief Clerk of the Washington House of Representatives, two at-large board members from the Washington House that are appointed by the House Speaker, the Staff Director of the Washington Senate Professional Committee, an licensed Attorney that is appointed by the Washington State Bar Association, a Supreme Court Justice or lawyer appointed by the Washington Supreme Court and a lawyer member of the Governor's office or a related state agency appointed by the Governor of Washington[4].

Bill drafting
The Washington State Code Reviser's Office handles all the bill drafting for members of the Washington Legislature. All the bill drafting is kept confidential. A staff of Attorneys is responsible for all bill drafting[5].
Code revising
The Code Reviser's Office is the official reviser of the Washington state statutes and its administrative code[6].
