The Omnibus Tax Preference Measure was on the November 6, 2012 statewide ballot in Washington as an advisory question, where it was approved. Background

A provision of a 2007 initiative, Initiative 960, directly led to the placement of this advisory vote on the ballot. Under that approved measure, of which some parts were later repealed, the vote was to be conducted to let voters say whether they agreed with the action of elected state officials regarding proposed tax increases.

• Tim Eyman, the sponsor of Initiative 960, the measure that directly placed this 2012 measure on the ballot, stated, "It's kind of cool that it only took five years for voters to get this right."
