Initiative to the People, was on the November 5, 1991 ballot in the State of Washington, where it was defeated.
I-553 sought to impose term limits on Washington politicians, including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Washington State Legislature and the state's delegation to the U.S. Congress.

Path to the ballot
The language for the measure was filed on January 9, 1991 by Gene J. Morain of Tacoma, Washington.
254,263 signatures were submitted and the Washington Secretary of State deemed that there were sufficient signatures to put I-553 to a vote of the people.
