Biography
Pettigrew began his career in insurance brokerage in 1984. In 2004, he founded two companies in OKlahoma specializing in life and health insurance. Pettigrew served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1994 to 2004, where he earned a reputation as a genuine conservative and reformer. During his time in office, Pettigrew was elected Assistant Minority Leader by his peers, and served as the Republican's Chairman for Candidate Recruitment.
Elections
2012
Pettigrew ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Oklahoma's 2nd District. Wallace sought the nomination on the Republican ticket. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was April 13, 2012. Pettigrew faced Markwayne Mullin, George Faught, Dustin Rowe, Dwayne Thompson, and Dakota Wood in the primary on June 26, 2012. The incumbent from the 2nd Congressional District is Dan Boren (D), who did not seek re-election in 2012. Pettigrew was defeated in the Republican primary on June 26, 2012. The top two vote getters, George Faught and Markwayne Mullin, will run in a runoff primary after no candidate received enough of the vote to win the nomination.[2]

As of March 31, 2012, Pettigrew raised $211,841 during the 2012 election cycle and spent $155,746, leaving him with $56,095 cash on hand. Of that, 69 percent came from candidate self-financing, while 29 percent came from individual contributions.[4]
