Shuler's professional experience includes the following; adjunct instructor at the University of Massachusetts; adjunct instructor at South Sakrbar College; and special agent in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1968--1997.
Shuler earned his PhD in international studies from Old Dominion University in 2008, his MA in security management from Webster University in 200, and his BS in physical education from The Citadel in 1967.
