West Linn Land Annexation & Sale Questions, 2 (May 2010)
Both these measures were approved but because the bond was defeated, the projects will not move forward.
- YES 4,849 (69.18%)
- NO 2,160 (30.82%)
The annexation measure sought to annex 7.5 acres of land to the city in order to build the new police and court facility.
In conjunction with the annexation measure, the city will also sell a parcel of land to the Linn/Wilsonville school district which will be used by the school district to build a new middle school.
These two measures, along with the West Linn bond measure must all be approved in order for the project to move forward. Essentially the city and school district are trading land so that both can proceed with their building projects. Although council members are aware of the problems to pass a bond, they felt that the construction had been delayed long enough.
