- YES 3,146 (44.87%)
- NO 3,865 (55.13%)
This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $10.8 million in order to help finance the construction of a new police and court facility in the city. Property owners would have paid about $30 per $1,000 of assessed property value a year for this bond. City officials believed that the replacement of the police station cannot wait any longer, construction has been put off for years. The new building would be more high tech and would assist in police work as well as ensuring coordinated efforts by law enforcement.
