A West Northfield School District Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the West Northfield school district which is in Cook County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 508 (31.42%)
  • NO 1,109 (68.58%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax rate by 1.796 percent in order to help pay for general needs of the school district.[2] As with other Cook County measures, this school's assessed tax increase was lower than the actual amount which residents would have seen added to their taxes. School officials used a law firm to calculate the assessed value, but the county equalizer had not been added in to the equation and therefore was lower than the real cost would be. The actual increase to property taxes would have been around $59 per $1,000 of assessed property.[3]
