West Palm Beach Downtown Height Restriction Waiver (August 2010)
This measure was defeated
- YES 4,085 (46.37%)
- NO 4,725 (53.63%)
This measure sought to waive the downtown building height restriction in order to construct a new hotel on the site of the former City Hall. The hotel would have been 15 stories high and the restriction limits buildings to just 5 stories. Though the city noted that the property is not in use and is excess land, voters agreed to keep the skyline of the city intact.
