The West Virginia secretary of state election took place on November 6, 2012. Election day polling hours were from 6:30 am until 7:30 pm.
Republican Brian Savilla, a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates since 2010, filed to run in the 2012 election for West Virginia secretary of state on January 26. Two weeks earlier, incumbent Secretary Natalie Tennant (D) declared her bid for re-election.
Tennant and Savilla ran unopposed in their respective parties' primary elections on May 8th, with Tennant winning the general election.
