Westlake City & Woodmore Village Charter Amendments, 2 (November 2011)

Two Westlake City & Woodmore Village Charter Amendment measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Westlake and the village of Woodmore which are in Cuyahoga County.

Both measures were approved

The Westlake measure sought to amend the city charter so as to renew the current police and fire levy which is set at a rate of 9 mills for a further five years in order to keep paying for salaries and vehicle maintenance fees.

The Woodmore measure sought to establish a charter review commission consisting of seven members and outline rules and guidelines for the commission.[1]

Westlake measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall Article VI, Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Westlake be amended to renew the existing 0.9 mill tax levy for the purpose of providing funds to pay for the salaries and other expenses of the Police and Fire Departments, for five years, to be renewed only upon approval of the electors?[3]

Woodmore measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Village of Woodmere Charter be amended and supplemented by the addition of Sec. XI-2 establishing a seven member elected Charter Review Commission and outlining the qualifications and duties of said elected Commission Members beginning on January 1, 2012?[3]
