There will be a Westport Budget Override Measure on the April 13 ballot in Bristol County for voters in the town of Westport.

This measure seeks to approve a budget override of $1.5 million in order to help cover budget shortfalls. If approved this override would increase property taxes by around $96 per $200,000 of assessed property value. This measure would need final approval in May if it is passed.[1]

The purpose of the town meeting is to decide how the budget funds will be appropriated. Town meetings cannot approve or disprove an override, the Board of Selectman have that power.[2]
