An election to recall three Board of Education members from the Westwood Heights School District in Michigan was held on February 24.[1] The recalls were approved by a more than a 2-1 margin.[2]
Organizers turned in petitions in October in the recall effort against board President Danny Wilkerson, Treasurer Harold McIntyre and Trustee Chereathe Hollinger, with each petition containing more than the 543 valid signatures required to get the recall on the ballot.[1]
The recall petition accused the trio of supporting new Superintendent Deborah Hunter-Harvill when she made the "poor thought-out decision to reassign highly competent, effective, longtime employees against the wishes of the community."[1]
