A Whidbey Park District Levy Renewal measure was on the August 16, 2011 ballot in the Whidbey park district area which is in Island County.

This measure sought to renew the expiring levy in the district which is set at a rate of $.17 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further six years in order to continue to help pay for operational and maintenance costs of the district.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Will the North Whidbey Park and Recreation District be authorized to impose regular property tax levies, to follow an expiring levy, of seventeen cents ($0.17) or less per thousand dollars of assessed valuation for each of six consecutive years commencing in 2011, for collection in the years 2012 through 2017, to pay a portion of the District’s operating and maintenance expenses, all as provided in District Resolution 11-01?
