William H. Campbell was a Republican candidate for Maryland Comptroller in the 2014 elections.[1] William H. Campbell lost the general election on November 4, 2014.

Biography

Campbell served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Naval Reserve from 1967 until 1984 when he was honorably discharged.[2]

Campbell has pursued a career in finance working to find solutions for large private organizations facing financial challenges. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Veterans Affairs and was a member of the NASA Audit and Financial Analysis Committee.[2]

Additionally, Campbell serves as the co-chair for the Maryland Taxpayers' Association.[3]

I want to end structural budget deficits, reform the State employee pension funds and the retiree healthcare fund, eliminate wasteful spending, and provide outstanding financial management to Maryland.[4]

Campbell ran for election to the office of Maryland Comptroller. Campbell was uncontested in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014. He faced incumbent Peter Franchot (Democrat) and Anjali Reed Phukan (Maryland Service Party) in the general election on November 4, 2014.
