William Thigpen is a Democratic member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing the 16th district, Fayette, Lamar, and Tuscaloosa counties. He was first elected in 1998.

Thigpen currently works as an insurance Agent for Thigpen Insurance. He previously owned Thigpen Ford Mercury from 1994-2002, and served as a Major in the Alabama Air Reserve and National Guard from 1958-1986.

He is the former President of Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and was co-founder of the L.E.A.F. Program.[1]
