Mount earned her BS in Business Administration from McNeese State University in 1974.
Mount was Pharmaceutical Representative for Lederle Laboratories from 1976 to 1981. She then worked as Licensed Real Estate Agent as an Associate to Mary Kay Hopkins from 1981 to 1988. From 1989 to 1992 she was Co-owner of The Paper Place.
