Unofficial Results
The following steps take place once unofficial election results are available.
- Find unofficial election results and open in 1 tab
- Open the elections page (ie, Nevada State Senate elections, 2010) in another tab
- Add unofficial results link to the external links section
- Add {{won}} next to all winners
- Update election component on legislator page to reflect unofficial results. Include reference but not vote box.
- Update the infobox for winners to reflect senator-elect or representative-elect status. Maintain {{candidate}} infobox, but change over the "Candidate for" phrase
- Update categories on legislator pages, ie, [[Category:2010 winner]] and {{senelec|2011}}. Could be added at same time as results
- Ensure all candidate and election pages are updated for tense and proximity to election.
Things to watch for
- Do not "call" the election until another news outlet calls it or the percentage gap is greater than 10% with at least 90% of precincts reporting.
- Do not include vote totals, as they will change once official results are released
- Do not create vote boxes until official results are available
- Do not update succession box until legislator is sworn into office
