CHEYENNE, Wyoming: During a mid-April meeting, the Fremont County Association of Governments discussed plans to generate voter support for the optional 1 percent sales tax question going on the county's ballots this November. The county commission approved the question last month stating that the increase in extra sales tax would raise funds for the county and the six municipalities within it, for "streets, roads, bridges, water and sewer utilities." According to Riverton Mayor Ron Warpness, who is serving as co-chair of a committee aimed at promoting the sales tax, "Basically, it's that each of the municipalities will have the responsibility to work with its citizens to use the information generated by Riverton and Lander. I think if we can get that information out and everybody on board in the communities, it will go."[1]
