There was a Yelm City Fire Protection District Creation measure on the February 9 ballot in Thurston County for voters in the city of Yelm and fire protection districts 2 and 4.

The City of Yelm approved this measure.

This measure sought to create a regional fire protection service authority in these three areas which would take over medical and fire emergency services for the areas. The authority will be funded by a district property tax at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value. Each of the three locations has a separate vote on the same issue.[2]
