Adelaide C. Eckardt (b. September 8, 1943) is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 37B. She was first elected to the chamber in 1994. She was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 37 of the Maryland State Senate.[1]

Eckardt served Minority Caucus Leader from 2007 to 2013 and Deputy Minority Whip from 1999 to 2003.


Eckardt's professional experience includes working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist, Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland and Salisbury University, a Consultant at Howard Community College, and a registered nurse.

Elections for the office of Maryland State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Christopher R. Robinson was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Richard Colburn was defeated by Adelaide Eckardt in the Republican primary. Eckardt defeated Robinson in the general election. Taren James Nance (D) ran in the general election as a write-in candidate.[1][2]
