Aileen M. Gunther is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 100. She was first elected to the chamber in a special election in 2003.

She previously represented District 98 in the Assembly from 2003 to 2013.

Biography

Gunther earned a national certification in infection control, a Nursing Degree from Orange County Community College and attended State University of New York, New Paltz for a degree in Liberal Arts.[1]

Gunther is a human immunodeficiency virus counselor. Her professional experience includes being a New York State government liaison for the Mid-Hudson Chapter of Infection Control Practitioners, a former director for performance improvement and risk management, and a registered nurse.[2]

She also ran on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. She defeated Gary D. Linton in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
