Alan N. Maisel is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 59 from February 2006 to December 31, 2013. Maisel resigned to represent District 46 in the New York City Council.[1]

Maisel has also been a member of Community Board #18 and a chairman/member of District #22 Community School Board.

Biography

Maisel earned his B.A. in History from Long Island University, Brooklyn Center, his M.A. in Urban Studies from Long Island University, Brooklyn Center and an Advance Certificate, Administration and Supervision in Education from Brooklyn College.[2] Maiselis is a retired assistant principal and teacher. His other professional experience includes being the chief of staff for New York State Assemblyman Frank Seddio and as an administrative assistant to United States Congressman Charles Schumer.[3]
