Alan Maisel is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 59 since February 2006 when he won a special election. Maisel has also been a member of Community Board #18 and chairman/member of District #22 Community School Board.

Maiselis is a retired assistant principal and teacher. His other professional experiences include chief of staff for New York State Assemblyman Frank Seddio and administrative assistant to United States Congressman Charles Schumer.[1]

Maisel ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 59. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. He defeated Robert Maresca in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
