Schlesinger ran for election to the U.S. House, representing the 18th Congressional District of Florida.[1] He sought the Republican nomination in the primary. The general election takes place on November 4, 2014.

Schlesinger announced in May 2013 that she plans to challenge incumbent Patrick Murphy (D) in 2014.[1]
