Alexander Sanchez was the Maryland Secretary of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Sanchez was appointed by Gov. Martin O'Malley in 2009 and served until May 2012 when he left to become chief of staff to Baltimore's mayor.[1]


Sanchez works as chief of staff to the mayor of Baltimore, Maryland. Before taking this job, he was the secretary of labor, licensing and regulation for the state of Maryland. His resume also includes four years working for the United Way of America, as Senior Vice President for Community Impact Leadership, and serving as President and CEO for United Neighborhood Centers of America.[2]

He is an attorney, having earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
