Alfonso Lopez is a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 49 of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Lopez's professional experience includes working as a partner at Alcalde & Fay, director at Congressional and Federal Affairs for the Commonwealth of Virginia, assistant administrator for U.S. Small Business Administration, senior legislative assistant for a U.S. Democratic Senator, and staff for the White House Council on Environment Quality.

Lopez earned his B.A. from Vasser College and his J.D. in environmental law from Tulane University in 1995.

Lopez is running in the 2011 election for Virginia House District 49. He defeated Stephanie Clifford in the primary on August 23, 2011. Lopez faces no opposition in the general election which takes place on November 8, 2011.
