Algie T. Howell, Jr. is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 90. He was first elected to the chamber in 2003.

Biography

Howell earned his B.A. from Norfolk Division, Virginia State College in 1967 and his M.A. from the Hampton Institute in 1973. A former member of the Norfolk Public School Board, Howell has worked as a business owner and educator. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960.[1]

Howell ran in the 2013 election for Virginia House of Delegates District 90. Howell defeated Richard James in the June 11 Democratic primary. The general election takes place on November 5, 2013.[4]

On November 8, 2011, Howell won re-election to District 90 of the Virginia House of Delegates. He defeated Richard James in the primary on August 23, 2011 and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[5]
