The Alma Center Exceed Revenue Limits referendum was on the April 1 ballot in the Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan School District, which is in Jackson County. The purpose of the referendum was to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $300,000 per year, with the additional funds being directed to the school budget. The annual additional funds will be used to meet the basic operating expenses of the district.

Text of measure

BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan, Jackson and Clark Counties, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District Budget be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $300,000 per year for four (4) years beginning in the 2008-2009 school year and ending in the 2011-2012 school year, on a non-recurring basis for the purpose of funding school operating expenses.

Result

Passed, with 454 "yes" votes and 428 "no" votes.
