Aloys Rutagwibira was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Illinois. Rutagwibira was removed from the official candidate list on February 2, 2012[1]


Rutagwibira was born on October 7, 1958 in Rwanda. He has been a resident of Illinois for over 10 years. He is a 1994 graduate of Indiana University –South Bend with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.[2] He graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences in 2001.[2]


Rutagwibira been working in the Pharmaceutical industry as a Mathematical Statistician since 2001.[2]

Rutagwibira was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 10th District. Rutagwibira sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[4] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Robert Dold sought re-election on the Republican ticket.

Rutagwibira was removed from the official candidate list on February 2, 2012[5]
