An effort to recall Alvin Jackson from his position as Mayor of Richwood, Louisiana is underway.[1]

The recall effort is being led by Richwood Alderwoman Margie Davis. Recall supporters are upset over the town's financial situation and want Jackson out of office. Davis told reporters in regard to Jackson, "I have lost confidence in his ability to manage the town of Richwood. I did write him a letter asking if he would resign because he had not done so, he told me nope, but I could recall him if I wanted to."[1]

Davis filed a petition to recall Jackson with the Louisiana Secretary of State in early September.[1] The state approved the petition and gave supporters 180 days, beginning on September 12, 2013, to collect the required 380 signatures.[2]
