Alvin Q. Taylor was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 15 of the Pennsylvania State Senate.

Taylor is currently a Committeeman for Precinct 10 of Lower Paxton Township. He has worked with a variety of political and community organizations. He co-founded the IMC City Wide Revival and chaired the 28th and 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebrations. He earned his AA in Sociology from Virginia College, his BA in Sociology from Virginia Union University, and his Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University. Taylor is married and has 3 children.[1]

PoliticsPA has named the District 15 primary one of Pennsylvania's top ten most interesting legislative primaries in 2012.[2]

In a press release on his 2012 campaign website, Taylor outlines his campaign themes:

  • "I am Alvin Q. Taylor a 2-term Democratic Committeeman of Lower Paxton Township's 10th Precinct. I am here today to announce my candidacy for the 15th District of the Pennsylvania State Senate. As a husband and father of 3 adult children and 50-year resident of Lower Paxton, I want to be involved with making the 2-county area of the 15th Senate District a good community to raise and educate families..."

Taylor ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania Senate District 15. Taylor was defeated by Rob Teplitz in the Democratic primary on April 24. [3][4]
