Amaryllis "Amy" Thomas was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 58 of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Biography

Thomas is a retired teacher, counselor, and paralegal. She received her B.A. from Eastern Michigan University, her M.A. from the University of Michigan, her paralegal diploma from Oakland University, and her J.D. magna cum laude from Novus Law School.[1]

Elections for the office of Michigan House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Amaryllis Thomas was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Seven challengers ran in the Republican primary; Eric Leutheuser came in first, with Tim Haberl following. Leutheuser defeated Thomas in the general election.[2][3][4]

Thomas ran in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 58. Thomas ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and was defeated by incumbent Kenneth Kurtz (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5]
