Website evaluation

Main article: Evaluation of Virginia county websites

The good

  • County board meeting dates, agendas, minutes and reports are posted for current and previous years.[1]
  • Contact information for elected county officials[2] and county administration[3] are available.
  • County taxes can be paid online.[4]

The bad

  • County budget, audits and financial reports are only available for the current year.[5]
  • Terms of office for county board members are not posted.
  • There is information for vendors about the bidding and contract award process,[6] but there appears to be no record of past requested bids and awarded contracts.
  • There is no information about the county's association with lobbyists. However, the Virginia Association of Counties lists the county as a member.[7]
