Amos Amerson was a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 9th District from 2001 to 2013. He served on the Dahlongea Georgia Council from 1999-2000, and was Chair of the Parkway Zoning Appeals Board from 1984-1998.

Amerson was an Associate Professor at North Georgia College and State University from 1982-1998. He has also been a GS-13 and Lieutenant/Analysis in the United States Department of Energy, and Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Vietnam.

He is a member of the Rotary Club, American Association of Retired Persons, Board of Lumpkin County Literacy Coalition, National Rifle Association, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.[1]

Amerson ran for re-election to the 9th District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the July 20 primary and no one filed to run against him in the general election. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[2]
