Andrew J. Lanza is a Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing District 24 since 2007. Lanza was a member of the New York City Council. Lanza was an Assistant District Attorney for Robert Morgenthau. He is also a business owner and accountant. Lanza earned his BS in Accounting from Saint John's University. He then received his JD from Fordham University School of Law in 1992.

He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Lanza defeated Gary W. Carsel (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
