Andrew Raia is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 12 since 2013. He previously represented District 9 from 2003 to 2013.

Raia's professional experiences include chief of staff for Suffolk County Legislator Allan Binder; and as an office worker for multiple New York State Assemblymen, a New York State Senate Majority Leader, and a New York State Senator.

Raia earned a BA in political science from the State University New York at New Paltz.[1]

Raia ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 12. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Raia was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]

Raia ran unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He defeated Christopher Dempsey (D) in the general election on November 2.[4] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.
