Andrew Raia is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 9 since 2003.

Raia's professional experiences include chief of staff for Suffolk County Legislator Allan Binder; and as an office worker for multiple New York State Assemblymen, a New York State Senate Majority Leader, and a New York State Senator.

Raia earned a BA in political science from the State University New York at New Paltz.[1]

Raia ran unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He faced Christopher Dempsey (D) in the general election on November 2. In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.

2008

On November 4, 2008 Raia won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 9, defeating opponents Karen Kerr-Ozimek (D) and Michele Mastrangelo (WF).

Raia raised $114,874 for his campaign while Kerr-Ozimek raised $11,662 and Mastrangelo raised $0.[2]
