Andy Tobin (b. June 27, 1958) is a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives. He has represented the 1st District since 2007 and currently serves as House Speaker. He previously was House Majority Leader.

Tobin is a Manager with TLC Employee Benefits and Consulting. He has also worked as CEO of a local aerospace company, banker, insurance, and real estate lender.

He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Hugh O'Brian Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association Board, Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Sharlot Hall Museum Board, and the Young Men's Christian Association Board.[1]

Issues

Tobin did not provide answers to the 2008 Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[2]

Tobin is urging his fellow state legislators to consider adopting a Arizona Racino Amendment (2010), which would allow "racetrack casinos" or "racinos" in the state as a way of making up for tax revenues that are fast declining in the state's economic recession.[3]

Tobin won re-election in the 2012 election for Arizona House of Representatives District 1. He and incumbent Karen Fann defeated State Senator Lori Klein in the August 28, 2012, Republican primary. He won the general election on November 6, 2012.[5][6]

Tobin won re-election to the 1st district seat in 2010. Tobin and Karen Fann won the Republican primary. They then defeated Democrat Lindsay Bell in the November 2 general election.[7][8]

On November 4, 2008, Tobin and Lucy Mason won re-election to the 1st District Seat in the Arizona House of Representatives, defeating opponent Dennis Grittner (D).[9]
