Angel Cruz is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 180.

Cruz received his diploma from North East Catholic High School. His professional experience includes his work as a Union Organizer and his work as Aide of Philadelphia City Councilman Rick Mariano.

Cruz has served as Assistant Secretary for the Philadelphia City Committee Democratic Party and as Committeeman-at-Large/Delegate at the Democratic National Committee. He has served as Ward Leader for the City of Philadelphia's 7th Ward since 1996. In 2001, Cruz joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He has served in that position since, representing the 180th District.

Cruz ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 180. Cruz defeated Jonathan Ramos and Anthony Johnson in the Democratic primary on April 24 and was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]

Cruz ran for re-election in 2010. He defeated Jonathan Ramos in the May 18 Democratic primary and faced no opposition in the November 2 general election.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Cruz won re-election to the 180th District seat of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He received 17,222 votes, defeating Libertarian Erik Sanchez (329).[4]
