Ann Callis is a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 election. She is running in the 13th congressional district of Illinois.[1][2]

Callis was the chief judge of the Third Circuit of Illinois. She became chief judge in 2006 and was retained in 2012, but announced her resignation from the court on May 3, 2013 in order to run for Illinois' 13th congressional district.[3][4][5] She officially announced her candidacy on May 8th, 2013.[2]

Career

Callis was the chief judge of the Third Circuit of Illinois.

She was a resident circuit judge and serving in Edwardsville. She was appointed to the position in 2001 after having served as an Associate Judge since 1995. She became chief judge in 2006. She was retained in 2012, but announced her resignation from the court on May 3, 2013.[6][4][7]
