Apryl Major was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 15 of the North Carolina State Senate.


Major's professional experience includes working in the aerospace manufacturing industry and is a certified Quality Engineer.[1]


Campaign themes


In an article with the Raleigh Sentinel, Major said that the issues that she was focusing on were "protecting the Constitution, restoring the economy, bringing good jobs, raising teachers' pay, eliminating healthcare taxes, reducing big government into effective government, enforcing immigration laws, caring for homeless veterans, and stopping privacy invasion -- can only be solved by thinking outside the political box."[1]

Elections for the office of North Carolina State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 28, 2014. Tom Bradshaw was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Jim Fulghum defeated Apryl Major in the Republican primary. Fulghum withdrew from the race on July 3, 2014, citing ongoing treatment for cancer. He was replaced by John Alexander (R). Alexander defeated Bradshaw in the general election.[2][3]
