A Argyle Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Argyle, which is in Sanilac County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire protection equipment maintenance and purchase costs in the township. It was approved.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the expired previous voted increase in the 15 mill tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes in Argyle Township, of one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) be renewed at the original voted one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for four (4) years from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2015 inclusive, for the specific purpose of purchasing and maintaining fire protection equipment for the Argyle Township Fire Department, raising an estimated Twenty One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($21,500) in the first year the millage is levied?[1][2]
