The Arizona gubernatorial election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Jan Brewer (R) is exploring a run for re-election, but it is unclear if she is able to do so. As of November 2012, there is no definitive answer to whether or not Brewer, who was originally appointed to the position in 2009 and has been elected one time since, in 2010, is eligible to seek re-election under the Arizona constitution's rules governing gubernatorial term limits.[1]

Arizona is one of 21 states with a mixed primary system. The primary is considered semi-closed. Unaffiliated voters may choose which party's primary they will vote in, but voters registered with a party can only vote in that party's primary.[2][3][4]
