Arthur Handy (b. February 15, 1967) is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 18.

Education

Handy received his BA from the University of Miami in 1990.

Professional experience

Handy has worked as Sustainable Rhode Island Coordinator for The Apeiron Institute for Sustainable Living. He has also worked as Director of Communications and Advocacy for the American Lung Association.

Handy joined the Rhode Island House of Representatives in 2003. He has served in that position since, representing the 18th District.

Handy won re-election to the 18th District Seat in 2010. He defeated John McCarthy in the September 14 Democratic primary election and defeated Republican Richard Nordlundin the general election on November 2, 2010.[1][2]

In 2008 Handy was re-elected to the Rhode Island House District 18. Handy (D) finished with 4,076 votes while his opponent Richard Nordlund (R) finished with 1,819 votes.[3] Handy raised $9,035 for his campaign fund.[4]
