Artur Genestre Davis (b. October 9, 1967) is a former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Alabama's 7th congressional district. On February 6, 2009, Davis announced his candidacy for Governor of Alabama in 2010[1].

Davis was defeated by Ron Sparks in the Democratic primary. Sparks, in turn, lost to Republican Robert J. Bentley in the general election.

In May 2012, Davis officially switched parties to join the Republican Party. He also announced that any future runs for office would take place in his new home state of Virginia.[2]
